Updated 9/14/2021 The Georgia coastline is often overlooked and is one of the best hidden gem vacation areas in the United States. There are a few big “touristy” areas on the coast, but there are a ton of unknown off the beaten path vacation rentals scattered along the beautiful Georgia Coast. There are many miles of coastline between the two major tourist hubs of the Jacksonville area to the south and the Savannah area to the north. This area of Georgia is not nearly as popular as the Florida coast to the south or the South Carolina coast to the north, mainly because much of it is undeveloped.
You won’t find many high rise condo’s in areas we highlight on this list. If that kind of vacation rental appeals to you, this probably isn’t the article for you. If you are up for a little more of an adventure or maybe looking for a large secluded Georgia beachfront house rental to take the whole family, this article should point you in the right direction
5. Hideaway Cottage, a 5BR St. Simons Island Beachfront Rental
St. Simons Island is part of the “Golden Isles” region of Georgia, which also includes Sea Island and Jekyll Island. Brunswick is the closest city on the mainland side of this group of islands and has a small airport with flights to and from Atlanta. St. Simons Island is located in between Savannah and Jacksonville (about an hour drive from each) making those two airports a short drive away as well.
Hideaway Cottage is an absolutely gorgeous 5 bedroom beachfront Georgia house rental. It was recently completely renovated, and they went all out. From the ground floor covered pool to the awesome deck fire table overlooking the St Simons Island beach, this house is perfect for entertaining. The rental is rated to sleep 13 adults, making it an ideal choice for large families or groups. The large kitchen with beautiful new commercial appliances makes cooking for groups a breeze.
Hideaway Cottage is very highly reviewed on VRBO. During peak season’s the nightly rental rate will definitely reflect the luxury of this Georgia coast vacation rental, but during the off season you can sometimes get rates nearly half price. Instead of the usual 7 day minimum rental on large beachfront houses, this unit is actually a 3 night minimum, great for shorter trips if you are looking for that. 4. Beachfront Oasis, a 4BR Georgia Beach House Rental
Moving a little bit farther South down St Simon’s Island, our next pick is Beachfront Oasis. This Georgia beachfront rental house is a bit smaller than the last (rated to sleep 8), but that also means it comes at a lower price point. This is a great option if you don’t need that 5th bedroom. You will see from the pictures, the back deck of this rental is just about as close to the beach as you can get.
With 3 floors and 2 master suites on separate floors, Beachfront Oasis even has its own elevator. This makes carrying luggage or groceries up to the bedroom or kitchen floors a breeze. Every floor in this house has an amazing view of the ocean. The large covered deck areas are a great place to relax after a long day, or cook a big meal on the provided Big Green Egg grill. The VRBO reviews of this rental are outstanding, with an average score of 4.9/50 with over 50 reviews. 3. Pier Serenity, a 3 BR Georgia Oceanfront House Rental with Pool
Pier Serenity is a luxury 3BR oceanfront rental house with its own pool and spa. With this house we say oceanfront instead of beachfront, mainly because there is only a small slice of beach available here at lower tides. About 75 yards away there is a bigger public beach access. In our opinion, the downside of not having much actual beach is more than made up for by the amazing pool and spa that are right next to the water.
The huge kitchen with commercial appliances (including 2 dishwashers), bar, built in grills outside, and big entertaining areas make Pier Serenity an incredible spot to host gatherings. The pool and spa are even heated for winter months if desired. Not surprisingly, this rentals average review score is an unblemished 5.0/5.0. 2. Christopher’s 3BR Tybee Island Beachfront House Rental with Dock
This was the hardest choice to make on this list by far. This house is absolutely incredible, and fully deserving of taking the top spot on our list. You will see below, the house making our top spot is probably too big (and pricey) for most people, but it’s so over the top we couldn’t put it at #2. It’s incredibly rare to find a true beachfront Tybee Island house rental that also has a dock. It’s unheard of to find one that has a brand new 20ft by 30ft custom, covered, lighted dock!
The interior of the house was professionally decorated and is absolutely gorgeous. The large kitchen with a view of the ocean makes cooking something to look forward to. There is so much to do at this house its easy to keep the whole family entertained. Kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, hanging out on the beach or dock, the propane fire pit, any of the 3 ocean view decks, the list goes on. After over 100 reviews, their reviews are still perfect. That’s pretty rare and says a lot about how much care and pride Christopher and his family put into making sure every renter has a perfect experience. We can’t say enough great things about this house, if you are looking for a 3BR beachfront house on the Georgia coast, look no further. 1. The Famous Roundhouse, a 6BR Beachfront Mansion
We’ve made it to the top spot on our list of the best secluded Georgia beach house rentals. The Roundhouse is by far the biggest house on this list, sleeping 16 people comfortably. It sits in a perfect location on the beach, directly West of the beautiful Sea Island Golf Club. True to it’s name, the round design of the house itself gives panoramic ocean views in many of the rooms.
The large pool by the beach offers great views of the ocean, as do the large decks on the property. Words don’t really do this property justice, you simply have to see the pictures. Is almost excessively huge? Yes. Is it expensive? Yes. But, if you want the perfect spot for a once in a lifetime family trip, you’d be hard pressed to find a more beautiful rental in Georgia.
