Isla Mujeres is home to well over a hundred places to eat and drink, which is pretty incredible for a small island. The island relies heavily on tourists making day trips on the ferry from Cancun. Luckily, when all these tourists head back to Cancun for the night, the island’s bars and restaurants have tons of awesome happy hour deals. You won’t find any $1 beer specials in Cancun, but 20 peso (about $1) happy hour beers are pretty common in Isla Mujeres. Here are our favorite Isla Mujeres happy hour deals.
El Patio’s Isla Mujeres Happy Hour
Our favorite Happy Hour on the island is at El Patio de La Musica, a restaurant and bar featuring live music daily. Even when it’s not happy hour we recommend El Patio as one of the best places on Isla to hang out and have a drink and appetizers. This isn’t a place where you should expect a full sit down fancy meal, just delicious small plates and good drinks, with fantastic ambience as the main course.
Live music starts here daily at 4:30 PM, and so does their happy hour, which runs 4:30-6:30PM daily. The small plates and appetizers here are perfect for sharing, mainly finger foods like nachos, guacamole, calamari and buffalo shrimp. El Patio is famous for their frozen Mojitos, which are about $3 USD during Happy Hour, beers are $1 or $2 depending on what you get. The atmosphere here is fun and laid back, without the spring break craziness of music bars in Cancun. Rosa Sirena’s Rooftop Bar and Restaurant
Rosa Sirena’s has one of the coolest rooftop’s in Isla. It’s actually called a palapa, complete with a thatched roof. The breezy island vibe here is hard to beat, especially when you add in the live music they occasionally have on the rooftop. The food and drinks here are incredible, and they have the highest rated reviews on TripAdvisor that I believe I have ever seen (check out their reviews: TripAdvisor Rosa Sirena’s). Whether you visit Rosa’s during happy hour or during regular hours you can’t go wrong. That being said, they have some awesome happy hour deals:

Javi’s Cantina
Javi’s has one of the most well known happy hours in Isla Mujeres, and for good reason. Compared to El Patio, Javi’s is more of a sit down restaurant. In my opinion, Javi’s is one of the best values in Isla. Javi’s is not as expensive as some of the really high end restaurants on the island, and you get as good of food (if not better) with great ambience.
The seafood here is as fresh as it gets. The owner (Javi) has partnered with local fisherman to bring in fresh fish daily. Javi’s scores big points with us for offering their famous 20 peso ($1) beer during happy hour, but the mixed drink and food specials are constantly changing.
